Prophecy Prophecy is simply speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to others of what is being seen or heard from God.  Note that seers in the old testament were prophets as well.  In the new testament,  "He that prophesieth speaketh unto men edification, and exhortation, and comfort." (1 cor 14:3)  People can operate in the prophetic realm either by the Spirit of prophecy, the gift of prophecy, or through the office of a prophet, according to the grace that has been given. We are all encouraged as believers to speak as an oracle (or mouth piece) of God.  A strong prophetic voice is calling out  in the land to repentance and holiness, that we may receive mercy and grace.  God will often warn us through the prophetic just as He did with Jonah, and other prophets.  The prophetic gifting usually works in conjunction with other revelatory gifts to reveal the plans and purposes of God.   Prophecy is not fortunetelling or just predicting the future, but once again it is to help the saved and unsaved come unto the knowledge of God, and to speak life and confirmation into people's lives.  We have been given the Spirit of truth and the Holy Word of God that we may be transformed and prove God's will.(Romans 12:2)  We are told not to despise prophecy or to quench the Spirit of God (1 Thess 5:19-20).  People need to test all things as they seek the Lord,  and walk by faith.   -     We hope you are blessed and stirred to pray as you read the prophetic words on the sub-page.  God bless.
